Kicking Those Bad Habits Could Change Your Life

We all have habits of one kind or another. Some habits are positive others are negative and some are just revolting to other people. We want to keep the good habits and kick the bad ones. For a successful life the bad habits must go or our success will stay be hind with all of the bad. Kicking bad habits can be very hard to do. If one is down and out with low self esteem then kicking those bad habits can seem almost impossible to do. We hold on to these habits most of the time because we have trained our minds to think that we need them to survive and inside we all know this is so untrue. Start setting goals that will help you kick bad habits and start moving towards a life of success with out them tagging along.

Don't make excuses to justify your habits. Be honest with self and recognize the habits that must go. Making excuses is so easy to do especially when it come to something that we feel we need. Like smoking. I smoke, but I realize it is a habit that I must kick. Recognizing the fact that I need to kick it out of my life for good is the first step to successfully booting it out for good. Also seeing how it affects others and how others who do not smoke react towards me. The smell is revolting and the health issues that it causes are scary and even cause serious sickness or even death. So why do I still continue to smoke? Over the years I have trained my mind to think that it needs it. The chemical addiction part of smoking is over in 3 days. But the body motions and the inhaling action of the lungs are trained and embedded in my mind and tells me I need the motions. My point is, don't justify, look at your habits for what they really are. Justifying will only make it harder to stop or quit those bad habits that have to go. Stop making excuses and start telling yourself the truth. You, I, we deserve better.

Choose a good habit to replace the bad. Choosing new, good, healthy habits can be difficult to do, if we are determined then we will succeed. train your body and your mind to good healthy motion and get addicted to the good things and Kick the old rust bucket of bad habits. When we kick the bad habits once and for all others see our change and this will attract positive influences and over all it will make over all success a whole lot easier to achieve. Then there is the self esteem factor that we must consider as well. Kicking the bad out and bringing the good in will make us feel better about who we are.:)

Don't judge others for their bad habits. We all have a habit or 2 the we need to kick and judging others for theirs is not going to help you kick yours any better or faster. Don't judge yourself either. Judge the habit on a rating scale not the person. Habits are part of life, some choose habits that are worse then others but that doesn't mean they don't deserve the same chance you have. Accepting the fact that life has its ups and downs for us all and not judging does not mean you have to accept others bad habits, My point is accepting others and not judging them for the habits they have obtained through trial and error will help you see your own habits. This in return will make it much easier to not justify and make excuses and kick it.

To improve your life start setting goals today that will help you tomorrow. Think of the present too of course, but set goals in the future that way your present goals have a dead line and things will happen in a timely fashion. Set small goals and work your way towards bigger goals. So don't judge, don't make excuses and put into action a serious plan to make the changes for a better you. Kick those bad habits.

Everyone says to give up smoking is not easy. They always fill your head with smoking becomes a psychological, emotional and a physical addiction and your behavior has been conditioned to follow a routine that is reinforced into a habit. A lot of that is just over the top with language that no one understands.

Let Us Make it Simple

To put it in simple language 4 or 5 days to escape the physical addiction you get a little cranky and foggy. So what just plan for it. This part is really the easy part. The part that is so difficult in escaping the habit, this is all the one thousand and one reasons you reach for a cigarette in the first place. Now if you make yourself a good list of all the one thousand and one reasons you light up. And then make a counter plan of something to just make your mine look at something else for 30 full seconds the urge goes away until the next one comes along.

For me the habit or the reasons to light up still call to me even after 20 years. But so what just think of all the money I saved over the years. My worst craving is on a cold morning out on the ocean still comes back to get me. This one was never understood because the taste was terrible under these conditions or even when I smoked I hated the taste. But the craving was over powering at these times.

The Cold Hard Facts

Everyone likes to beat you over the head with the cold hard facts. So here they are each year 400,000 American people die from cigarette smoking alone, by way of lung cancer, heart disease, stroke and respiratory diseases. Do not forget the second hand smoke. Second hand smoke is the cause of about 3,000 deaths from lung cancer each year. So, we get the blame the smokers for not only are you killing yourself. But you are slowly killing others around you! It really is about time to give your friends and family a brake by stopping the smoking addiction?

Smoking also puts a big whole where your money used to be in your wallet. Part of the plan I used was if I could finally give up the cigarettes I would save the money and buy a boat. In 20 years I have bought 3 boats and 18 ft and a deep sea fishing boat 23 ft and a Flats boat 15 ft both of which I still own and use. So the little trick of using money as a crutch works pretty well.

The years the money and the boat was only a small part of my plan remember each time one of the reasons to reach for a cigarette you must have a programmed plan to counter it. It must be something strong enough to make you think of something else for 30 seconds to escape the urge. With a well thought out plan you can beat the habit. Without knowing what you will do ahead of time you will surely lose the battle every time.

It is the theme of this article, also another thing that means nothing to a smoker is smell and taste comes back. Your heart rate and blood pressure go back to normal very quickly. The overall health benefits when you think in terms of dollars and cents and the whole in wallet you just cannot be measured.

Lung Cancer

Almost every case of lung cancer in the world, 90% according to recent research, is caused by cigarette smoke. Either the victim smoked or was constantly exposed to second hand smoke.

This has to be at the top of your list of reasons to stop smoking, because the 5 year survival rate for people diagnosed with lung cancer is as low as 1%. Even in the best case scenario, the survival rate is not above 67%. In other words, most people who get lung cancer die.

So, why stop smoking? You may think that because you smoke now, you've already done irreversible damage, but the risk of developing lung cancer goes down gradually for every year that you do not smoke. After 15 years of not smoking, your risk is no greater than that of a person who never smoked.

Other Types of Cancer

Alzheimer's disease

The rate of mental decline is five times faster in smokers than in non-smokers. If you have any family history of Alzheimer's or other neurological conditions, this should be one of your top reasons to stop smoking now, unless, you want to be a burden to your family or simply forget them.

Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis and other Auto-immune Diseases

Lupus is a chronic disease that causes pain and inflammation. Eventually there can be tissue damage throughout the body. Why stop smoking? Current smokers have an increased risk for the development of lupus, but for those who have quit, there is no increased risk.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic and sometimes disabling disease characterized by painful, swollen joints. Scientists have identified several genetic risk factors for developing RA. Smokers with one of these genetic risk factors are 16 times more likely to have rheumatoid arthritis.

Lupus and Rheumatoid arthritis are classified as auto-immune diseases. Because nicotine impairs the proper function of the immune system, cigarette smoking can increase your risk of developing either one of these auto-immune diseases. Studies concerning these facts were published recently in the Journal of Arthritis and Rheumatism.

Men's Reasons to Stop Smoking

Infertility, erectile dysfunction and prostate cancer have all been linked to cigarette smoking.

Women's Reasons to Stop Smoking

If you are a woman who smokes, you have an increased risk of infertility, an increased chance of miscarriage, an increased risk of giving birth prematurely, giving birth to children with low birth weight, giving birth to children who have colic and losing your child to SIDS.

Smoking Cessation - If You Want to Stop Smoking For Real Start the Smoking Cessation Method Now!

Ok the smoking cessation method is out... no more secrets no more mystery.... no hype... no big deal... the whole process when you finally stop smoking will knock your socks off. Spread the word, any one and everyone can stop smoking today.

Yes everything you have read above is true. You might ask yourself, why is it not being promoted all over the world on every TV channel, in every newspaper, or all over the internet. The biggest issue for all smokers is the fear of how hard life will be while they are in the process of smoking cessation.

This is rooted in the belief, by smokers that a lot of the pleasurable things in life have to have a cigarette to accompany it. They refuse to accept that these pleasures have been infiltrated by the smoking habit and its master 'Nicotine'. This happens over a period of time, the nicotine with all its chemicals, produces serotonin which is a pleasure drug for the brain and it masks a lot of the harmful side effects it causes.

But what the smoker has forgotten is that there was a time when all these wonderful life pleasures were enjoyed without smoking.

Life after smoking cessation is wonderful, ask anyone who has achieved it, they will more than motivate you.
